Alison Stanton

Having completed an honours degree in Combined Arts (English, Archaeology, & Art History) Alison embarked on a career within Human Resources. She gained a solid grounding in HR working for 9 years with a local authority in Kent. After this she moved to Newbury and took a temporary position as HR Officer with Quantel, one of the town's leading Companies and designers of innovative broadcast equipment for the Television and Film industries. Following this came a 9 year period as HR Manager with leading Telecoms Company, Vodafone. Her last role involved the planning and implementation of Management Development training schemes for all of Vodafone’s UK based Managers and Senior Managers. Logistics, planning and team management experience, together with many years personnel management, have given Alison a focus on customer care and service delivery.

Redundancy from Vodafone in 2003 presented Alison with the opportunity to join her husband, Andy, in running their own business as well as spending more time with their two young daughters. AMS was already a well- established couriers business within Newbury but the pressures of directing day to day operations meant there was little time left for Andy to focus on ‘the other aspects’ of running a business. Alison, therefore, took up the challenge of business development - focusing on sales, marketing and building the business according to AMS’s already well established customer service values.
